About Us
Skilling Nigeria's Construction Workforce
FOCI Skills Academy, FSA is a national provider of vocational training for the construction industry under the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) developed by the National Board for Technical Education, NBTE. Registered in 2019, FSA tackles youth unemployment, the shortage of skilled artisans, limited access to skills development for women, and the large number of unskilled construction graduates in Nigeria.

FSA has 14 seasoned trainers trained by international experts, and six expatriates engaged by GIZ/Sequa working alongside them to ensure training is of international standard.
Dual vocational training combines 80% practical training at the academy with 100% practical training in partner companies. It is competency-based, not knowledge-based, and emphasises mastery of real workplace skills.
Graduates receive NSQF Level 3 certification under the National Skills Qualification Framework developed by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) — a nationally recognised qualification.
Most trades run a 6-month program, with longer options available for some trades such as Masonry, Plumbing, Carpentry and Electrical Installation, combining classroom, workshop and on-site training.
